About TCI

A Church Family Built on Better

At Temple Church International, we believe the Christian life was never meant to be lived alone.

Our Story

Rooted in Charlotte and Reaching the World

Temple Church International is a family-centered congregation serving the greater Charlotte area by way of Huntersville, North Carolina, under the leadership of Bishop Kevin L. Long. We gather each Sunday for worship, connect midweek through Facebook Live for Bible Study, and come together every morning for prayer.

We Are Called To

  • Get to know God BETTER
  • Get to know each other BETTER
  • Help the world get to know God BETTER through us
Our Vision

A community that knows God better together

To be a church where every generation grows in relationship with God, with one another, and with the world around us.

Our Mission

Worship, discipleship, and outreach

To help people know God better, know each other better, and help the world know God better through us — in worship, in study, in prayer, and in service.

Senior Pastor

Bishop Kevin L. Long

Bishop Kevin L. Long is a ministerial visionary, entrepreneur, author, songwriter, and third-generation pastor whose life and ministry have been marked by faith, leadership, and service. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Bishop Long began his journey of faith at the age of 12. Recognizing the pastoral call on his life at an early age, he was nurtured and developed under the leadership of his father, the late Reverend Sampson Long, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Concord, North Carolina.

A committed leader with both spiritual and academic preparation, Bishop Long earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Elizabeth City State University. He now serves as the Senior Pastor of Temple Church International in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he leads with vision, compassion, and a heart for transformation. He is also the proud father of Nicholos, Chanel, and Donovan.

Throughout his ministry, Bishop Long has championed initiatives that uplift both the church and the broader community. Recognized as one of Charlotte’s premier community leaders, he has served as a member of the Mayor’s Mentoring Program, where he helped guide and mentor at-risk youth. He was also appointed to serve on the Youth and Gang Drug Task Force, reflecting his deep commitment to addressing the needs and challenges facing the Charlotte community. Driven by a passion for people and a burden for social justice, Bishop Long also became involved with the Urban United Faith Network, a coalition of churches committed to uniting the city of Charlotte through prayer and faith.

Bishop Long’s ministry has extended far beyond the local church. He has traveled nationally and internationally, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and impacting lives through preaching, teaching, and spiritual impartation. Because of his wisdom, experience, and pastoral insight, he has become a trusted spiritual mentor to many pastors who seek his counsel, support, and leadership in ministry. He currently serves as the Bishop of Formation and First Assistant to the Presiding Prelate of Father’s Council Covenant Ministries International.

As an author, Bishop Long has used the written word to inspire personal growth and spiritual reflection. In 2003, with the understanding that one changed mind can bring deliverance to many, he released his first book, The Gideon Principle. In 2022, he released a 30-day devotional, Put Your Mask On First, a work dedicated to encouraging individuals to choose wholeness, love others well, and evolve into the person God has called them to be.

Bishop Long’s love for God’s people, reverence for God’s Word, and unique spiritual anointing enable him to connect with people from all walks of life. Through prayer, preaching, and teaching, he meets people where they are and points them toward the transforming power of Jesus Christ. As a highly sought-after minister of the Gospel, Bishop Long’s greatest desire is that God would be glorified through his life, and that he might know Him more deeply through the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering.

“...then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.”
Jeremiah 3:15
